My People Have Forgotten Me...Can a Bride forget her Attire?
Jeremiah 2:32 "...or a bride her attire..."
On her special day,
The bride to be looks forward to, amongst other things, looking like a princess in order to steal the attention and compliments of her visitors. We know that a huge amount of preparation and planning is in place not only for the wedding but most importance to the woman is her attire. She dreams of walking down the Isle in radiant elegance, dressed to impress.
What we wear indicates the importance we attach to the occasion.
Jeremiah is stating the obvious....that something of utmost importance to the bride....is NEVER absent-mindedly forgotten.
It would be a gross embarrassment if she came dressed inappropriately for the occasion. Moths and days before the want, the bride to be can think of nothing else but preparations for this major event of a lifetime.
What will possess her to forget her attire.
The scripture reminds us "...yet My people have forgotten Me days without number". I can't help but feel God's disappointment in this verse, almost like a wakeup call to shift focus back onto what is of utmost importance and worth remembering ....our relationship with God. Our desire to pursue a closer walk with Him.
He that has an ear......hear what Father speaks to your heart today.
Shalom
